What is PTLLS?

PTLLS or “Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector” is the first step for new teachers in order to legitimately provide adult learning in the UK and provides a sound foundation for progression in adult learning. The minimum time frame for achieving the qualification is around 5 days. PTLLS is also known as 7303

What is CTLLS?

CTLLS or “Certificate to teach in the lifelong learning sector” is the second step, a valid PTLLS qualification is a prerequisite for anyone wishing to participate. The time frame for achieving the CTLLS qualification tends to be spread over a few weeks, backed by prior teaching experience.

What is DTLLS?

DTLLS or “Diploma to teach in the lifelong learning sector” is the third step – and is also a very prestigious as it ranks among CELTA and other degree level qualifications. The timeframe for achieving the DTLLS qualification is several months, backed by prior teaching experience.

The following awarding bodies have mapped their qualifications in line with national occupational standards in order to provide approved certification for PTLLS / CTLLS / DTLLS:
