How do I get a SIA Badge?
In order to qualify for application of a SIA Badge, you will need to undergo security training first. Once you have completed your tuition, you will receive a certificate which you will need in order to apply for your SIA Badge.
What courses are there that will get me a SIA Badge?
Any SIA registered course will on successful completion allow you to apply for an SÏA badge.
Will doing the CCTV/PSS training course enable me to apply for an SIA badge?
Yes, becoming a qualified CCTV operator will allow you to apply and obtain a SIA badge. Our CCTV training is of high standards and will help you become a working CCTV operator in no time.
Will doing the Door Supervisor course also enable me to obtain the SIA badge?
Yes, most of our students start out with the three day door supervisor learning course,
pass their exams effortlessly and then obtain their Security Industry
Authority badge.
Can I work with just the certificate and no SIA badge?
No you will need to carry your SIA badge on you at all times whilst working.
The certificate is an award that allows you to apply for the SIA badge. Your
SIA badge will show that you are a qualified security professional and you
cannot get your SIA badge if you have not done security tuition with a reputable institution.
Can my SIA badge be revoked?
Your Security Industry Authority badge can be revoked in severe cases, where you do a violent crime or give false information about your training. However before your SIA badge gets revoked you will be informed before the time and in writing by the SIA head office.
What happens if someone steals my SIA badge?
In the case of damage, loss or theft the SIA should be notified immediately and you may apply for a new SIA badge.
Are there any practise codes to follow once I receive my SIA badge?
Yes, you should wear your SIA badge where it is clearly visible for any person to see that you are a security professional. You also have to notify the Security Industry Authority if you get convicted of any crime.
How may I display my SIA Badge?
Your holder for your badge can be worn round the neck by a lanyard, on the belt via a leather loop or round the arm with an
elasticised strap.
Why does my course fee not include my SIA badge?
AAB Training is the training centre providing the tuition and qualification that candidates need to apply for their SIA badge. The badge itself is applied for directly from the Security Industry Authority and they ask a fee for processing and issuing the SIA badge.
